N’Djamena XL Four Day Tour

N’Djamena, the capital of Chad is located on the Chari River at the border with Cameroon was founded in 1900 by the French as the colonial outpost known as Fort-Lamy and has strong Sahelian and Arab-Berber influences.

During your four day travel package to Chad, we’ll visit the historical city center of N’Djamena and we will also visit the famous elephant rock Hadjer Lamis outside of N’Djamena. The Hadjer Lamus (Elephant Rock) is a natural rock formation resembling a giant elephant drinking from the Chari River. Nearby, ancient rock paintings dating back thousands of years show offer a glimpse into the lives of Chad’s earliest inhabitants. We combine our trip with Douguia, a traditional village, just 120 km outside of N’Djamena and on the bank of the Chari River.

Chad Four Day Travel Programme

Day 1: Arrival in N’Djamena

Arrival at N’Djamena International Airport, welcome by your guide and private transfer to your hotel.

Day 2: City Tour of N’Djamena

Morning visit to the historical city center including the National Museum (superb Sao collection), the colorful Grand Marché, the artisanal center, cathedral, Grand Mosque and Avenue Charles de Gaulle.

Day 3: Hadjer Lamis and Douguia Traditional Village Excursion from N’Djamena

Early departure from N’Djamena to visit the Elephant Rock (Hadjer Lamus), the rock paintings and panoramic views, followed by a tour to Douguia village where you’ll have a guided walk through the traditional Kotoko fortified compounds, meet local fishermen, and learn about their unique mousgoums (traditional reed houses). Scenic picnic lunch on the shaded banks of the Chari River.

Day 4: Departure

Airport transfer to N’Djamena International Airport, end of tour.

We only recommend the Radisson Hotel, since other hotels simply do not meet western standards. Please, note that while being the best hotel in town, the quality at the Radisson is still not the same as it is in Europe. Clients are responsible for their own hotel bookings.

Chad e-visa and legalised invitation letter

It is now possible to apply for an e-visa for Chad or you can of course go to your nearest embassy, for both procedures you will need an invitation letter from a local tour operator from Chad. While our local agenc offers free invitation letters for longer tours, we charge 199 usd per invitation letter per person for short tours (3 days to 4 days-. We only grant these for a complete three-day tour or longer which includes airport transfers and activities. It is not possible to get an invitation letter for a short tour with us and then continue your travel in Chad on your own, while under our invitation. This is considered visa fraud and any case will be communicated to immigration, who will immediately revoke your visa. Any requests for invitation letters for day tours will be ignored.
